Expert Sustainable Energy Systems, Jugend eine Welt
Irita Opara is a technical expert and program coordinator of the “13 Months of Solar Power Program” from Jugend Eine Welt, funded by the Austrian Development Cooperation, which aims to establish solar technician training courses at vocational institutions in Ethiopia and other African countries. She holds a master degree in Applied Physics from the Technical University in Graz and a Postgraduate Certificate in International Development Cooperation from the Technical University Kaiserslautern. After working in industry as an international product manager for many years she dedicates herself now to international development, the transition to sustainable energies and vocational training. Before her actual position she worked for GIZ as a technical advisor in the Green Skills programme in South Africa.
