CLIMATE KIRTAG

>>Please give us FEEDBACK

"Less talk - more action!" Since the launch of the AUSTRIAN WORLD SUMMIT in 2017, Arnold Schwarzenegger has focused his energy on getting as many people as possible enthusiastic about active climate protection. More awareness, more attention for quick action and the identification and implementation of concrete solutions - these are his goals. Because: We are all part of this movement, we are all ´Climate Action Heroes´!

Therefore, after the annual conference AUSTRIAN WORLD SUMMIT the Climate Kirtag, our outdoor environmental ralley, will take place again. More than 10,000 people attended this event last year, listened to famous Austrian musicians while being informed about climate protection issues. On the 17th of September Vienna´s Heldenplatz will turn into a fairground for climate action once again.

The Climate Kirtag will take place from 1:30pm until 9pm with free entrance for all. From around 5pm you will be able to see Arnold Schwarzenegger and his special guests and musicians live on stage. At the many different Kirtag stands there will be lots of information about climate protection issues, solutions and projects. Also in culinary terms your thirst and hunger will be taken care of.

Transportation

We kindly ask you to use climate-friendly transportation.

Our mobility partner ÖBB has a unique offer for our guests this year:

At the AUSTRIAN WORLD SUMMIT you can visit the ÖBB booth at the CLIMATE KIRTAG and, upon presentation of your ÖBB train ticket, you will receive ÖBB vouchers to the value of your ticket in return. We would be happy, if you donate this amount to a climate project directly on site. Thus, with your climate-friendly journey and donation to the project, you will contribute twice to active climate protection. (Note: Voucher solution is valid for ÖBB tickets for journeys to the AUSTRIAN WORLD SUMMIT on 17 September 2020 on price basis 2nd class within Austria)

Conservation of resources & Regionality

For all materials in use as well as for the catering conservation of resources, the protection of the environment and sustainability are top priorities. Food originates from regional and organic production and fair trade respectively. Also give-aways fulfil the sustainability standards. In order to avoid waste, drinks and meals will be served solely in and on reusable dishes. Leftovers can be taken home in the “Tafelbox”. For each box 20 cent go to the Austrian Tafeln, a charity organization, which serves impoverished people with saved food.

Environmentally-friendly mobility

It is especially important to us that participants can travel to and from the venue in an environmentally friendly manner. The venue, Hofburg, is located centrally and can be conveniently reached by public transport (for more on transportation, also see above). There is sufficient space to park bicycles around the venue. Furthermore, there is also a city-bike station as well as e-charging stations (for example, in the garage on Robert-Stolzplatz).
